Presidential elections are due to be held in Ivory Coast on 25 October 2025.[1]
Electoral system
[edit]The President of Ivory Coast is elected by absolute majority vote through a two-round system to serve a 5-year term.[2]
Candidates
[edit]The final list of candidates was released by the electoral commission on 10 September 2025.[3]
Declared
[edit]- Alassane Ouattara (RHDP), president of Ivory Coast (2010–present).[4] He confirmed his candidacy on 29 July.[5]
- Vincent Toh Bi Irié (Ind), former mayor of Abidjan[6]
- Gnangbo Kacou (Ind), former deputy[7]
- Pascal Affi N'Guessan (FPI), former primer minister of Ivory Coast (2000–2003) and president of the Ivorian Popular Front.[8]
- Jean-Louis Billon (Ind), Minister of Commerce (2015–present)[9]
- Simone Gbagbo (MGC), former first lady of Ivory Coast (2000–2011)[10]
- Ahoua Don Mello (Ind), former minister[11]

Controversies
[edit]Some presidential candidates, including Gnangbo Kacou, are planning to abandon the CFA franc, a controversial move.[16]
